BRANDED AND WHITE BOX
A branded - are PC setup's that you can get from Big-name vendors like HP, Dell, IBM, Gateway, Acer, Toshiba, and Sony.
White box is a Personal Computer without a registered Brand Name. The term is applied to systems assembled by small system integrators and homebuilt computers or personalbuilt computers assembled by end users purchased at computer shops and PC hardware retailers. Building a white box is like DoItYourself system and can also be applied to a high volume of unbranded PC's. A white box computer is a custom-built with name-brand internal components. So whats the difference? Nothing actually. Most of the components if not all that are found in a branded PC can be bought from PC hardware retailers and assembled to become white boxes. White boxes are way cheaper than branded PC's. No more royalty payments made on the big names. And to put it quite simple. Computers, parts and peripherals are built tough nowadays they don't easily get broken. Besides a PC only becomes old once a user intends to use softwares that the hardware cannot satisfy - meaning for as long as the hardware works and the software runs - there isn't a reason to purchase another PC... not unless the client says.."joe - got alot of cash to burn" well now thats straight business talking.. and I like that.
